Sending Your Memoir Manuscript for Editing

You can send us your memoir manuscript either in a electronically (preferred method) or hard copy (not favored).

If you send the manuscript electronically—which we highly recommend—please specify whether you would like to use Microsoft’s Track Changes, or whether you would like your editor to print out your manuscript and make edits by hand. (Most clients choose Track Changes which turns out to be easier and more economical.)



Simply email us your manuscript as an attachment. This is the preferred, quickest and least expensive option.
Please send as a Microsoft Word document in the following format:

  • font size 12
  • text double-spaced
  • ample (1.5 inch) margins
  • page numbers
  • header or footer with title and your name.

Ready to work with an editor?

We offer an introductory package—try us for a three-hour commitment. That’s it: three hours! If we’re a fit, you ask us for more time. If we’re not a fit, we go our separate ways.

Sending a hard copy is more expensive and will take longer for the transmission between you and your editor. It will be more time consuming for you to make changes; an editor can make electronic changes in the document as the process proceeds. This is not the case with a hard copy edit.

You may submit a hard copy (print out) with these specifications:

  • 8.5 x 11 pages
  • font size 12
  • text double-spaced
  • ample (1.5 inch) margins.
  • pages numbered.
  • header or footer with title and your name.
