Why does what you want to write become so difficult to do the moment you sit down to write a memoir? Where are the words you need to convey the excitement or the dread or the anticipation of your life experience? After writing a while, you are shocked to realize that what appears on the computer screen has no pizzazz! This drivel is not what you had in mind when you thought with excitement of writing your memoir. So why is writing with passion so hard sometimes?

What to do to bring passion into your story and make writing easier?

You want to be writing with passion, but so many things get in the way. You work all day. You are busy and by evening you are tired. Writing seems like such a struggle. Where do you start the process again and how do you keep going? So many things bog you down: there’s the family and responsibilities or perhaps you do have all the time you need—but you know how it is, you’re not a writer.

When you conceived of writing your memoir, your story was full of energy. When you think of your story, it still is full of energy. Perhaps it makes you laugh or cry! Perhaps you get angry thinking of what happened! Feelings move through you with strength and charge. But, when you sit down to write, the writing becomes heavy and dispirited. The words are dull and lack the luster of your memories. Why is it so hard?

How can you make writing with passion easier?

Is there a way to connect to your stories and record them with the passion you feel when you are away from the writing table?

I believe there is. Writing is an art and a craft and you can become more adept at both. In the process of developing both your art and your craft, you will find yourself becoming more enthused about what you are doing.

How have you dealt with the dichotomy between aspiration and realization? And when that happened what did you do to bridge the gap, to make writing easier?

Or, are you still full of questions?

Either way, leave a comment below about your experience of writing with passion. Either I or other writers will chat with you and together we can learn more about this need for writing with passion. In the next weeks, I hope to write at some length about this topic. Meanwhile, please forward this post to your writing friends and relatives who may enjoy being immersed in this topic.
